Policy on processing of personal data
Our transparency and seriousness in processing personal data
How we consider the protection of privacy to be of fundamental importance
We are committed to maintaining the privacy of the Client’s personal information. Better service can ensue if the Client is made aware of and understands the regulations and rules adopted for the protection of privacy. The rules used by us in processing personal data are shown as follows.
Why personal data is collected
We collect and use Clients’ personal information to guarantee a better level of service and to facilitate access to services. In addition, personal data is used to keep every Client abreast of new services, special offers and any other information which we consider may potentially be of interest to you. This can in some cases also include information coming from other companies relating to products and services which can add value to our services. Moreover, personal data can be used to contact the Client and to invite him to participate in market research: this allows us either to evaluate the level of satisfaction with the service used, or to develop even more useful and personalised services.
How personal data is collected
Information about Clients is collected in many different ways. For example, the information needed to contact the Client can be requested when the Client writes to us, when he telephones to request a service or when he participates in an online survey. Information gathered in this way is archived within a secure server.
When personal data is revealed
Personal data is protected according to these rules and the law on privacy protection. Our company may occasionally share information relating to contact data with carefully-selected companies. This helps keep Clients informed of any related products and services. For example, we could be working with a developer to inform the Client of the release of the latest version of an Internet service. In the event you do not wish to receive promotional information from us or third parties, it is necessary to communicate this in writing to the Manager in charge of personal data.
We work with other companies which participate in the supply of products and services to clients. Such companies may receive Clients’ personal data. For example, freight forwarders receive such information for the purpose of delivering products efficiently. This information is communicated for the exclusive purpose of dispatch and delivery. Such companies are obliged to safeguard personal data in compliance with the law on privacy and the rules of transparency adopted by us.
It may sometimes be necessary to supply personal data for reasons specifically foreseen by the law, for example as a result of a request from the authorities during legal proceedings.
How we protect personal data
We protect the security of data which the Client sends by employing physical, electronic and management procedures. We invite Clients to take the necessary precautions for protecting their own personal data on the Internet. We suggest that passwords be frequently changed using a combination of letters and numbers. Ensure that a secure browser is used along with firewall, anti-virus and anti-spyware programmes.
Accessing personal information
The Client can at any time access personal information which relates to him. To examine and update personal information it is sufficient to request it from the Manager in charge of personal data. To consult other personal information which our company could also have gathered, it is possible to contact the Manager in charge of personal data.
Collection of other personal information
It is possible to navigate our website anonymously. Personal information is not gathered during navigation, not even the electronic mail address. Nevertheless, the browser automatically communicates the type of computer and operating system being used.
In any email sent to Clients we use the “click-through” type of URL. When one clicks on such a URL, one passes through our web server before arriving at the destination website. We use “click-throughs” to get to know the Clients’ preference from several topics and to measure the efficiency of our communication.
Our commitment to privacy protection is shared throughout the company
To guarantee the discretion of personal information, these guidelines on privacy protection are communicated and signed by every one of our partners and/or employees.
Our website may occasionally or continuously contain links to other websites. Let us clarify that even on these exceptional occasions, we do not share the personal information of our users with any websites. Moreover we do not assume responsibility for their customs concerning privacy. We encourage all Clients to review the privacy protection rules of such companies.
The data processing policy adopted by our company is subject to change at any time, while always fully respecting the Italian laws that are in force. We do however remind Clients to review this document regularly to remain updated on any changes.
